Anna Bedford earned her PhD in Comparative Literature and a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park. She holds an MA in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Anna’s recent research and publications have focused on science fiction and ecofeminism, and other research interests include feminist theory, global studies, narrative theory, and the Study of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). Anna has published several articles on ecofeminism and on women’s SF. Her dissertation explored the central Canadian theme of survival in recent science fiction by women in French and English, taking up the questions of subject, nature, community, and ecological disaster. She is currently co-editing an anthology of early women SF writers from the pulp and magazine era of the 1920s-1950s.
