Exploring the worlds beyond Earth remains one of the primary objectives of science. Thus, science fiction has always taken up the challenge of imagining what these worlds might be like. But through the medium of video games, whole new opportunities arise. Gone is the necessity of Earth-like worlds. Indeed, the more alien and bizarre the world, the better.
