Giada Arney

Dr. Giada Arney is an astrobiologist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. She loves planets of all types, especially planets orbiting other stars called exoplanets. Her research focuses on detecting and characterizing potentially habitable exoplanets with future telescopes. Using computer simulations, she predicts what these planets may look like from afar, and how we might design telescopes to effectively characterize them. She also studies how to detect “biosignatures” – remotely detectable signs of life – in planetary atmospheres. Other research interests include studying early Earth as an analog for exoplanets, and better understanding Venus, one of the least habitable environments in the solar system.
