Calixta Starr, when not performing a myriad of characters as a theatrical fusion belly dance artist, is a registered Dance/Movement therapist with her Masters in Creative Arts Therapy from Drexel University. She has been trained in both the Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) and the Kestenberg Movement Profile (KMP) systems of movement analysis, which she utilizes daily in her clinical work. As a performer, she is known for her character driven, story based pieces and has portrayed both unique and popular characters alike from worlds such as Wonderland, Nightvale, Grimm’s fairytales and the macabre poems of Edgar Allan Poe.
