Edward Celarier
Edward Celarier is a physicist who worked with NASA, among other institutions. His research interests have come to include questions of how complex systems provide both goals and limits for technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence. What imperatives underlie the responsibility of human beings to develop and manage such technologies? The development, adoption, and adaptation to technologies has always happened in the context of changing human social structures whose evolution is at least partially unrelated to those technologies. Developments over the past several decades have given rise to an ever greater isolation of some individuals and groups from society. How may we mitigate further dissolution of the social fabric while renewing our vision of the human condition?
