Katherine Garcia-Sage

Dr. Katherine Garcia-Sage is a space scientist at NASA Goddard and a research associate at the Catholic University of America. She specializes in computational modeling of Earth's ionosphere and magnetic field and how they are affected by Solar activity. She then works on applying our knowledge and computer models of those interactions to other planetary systems inside and outside our solar system. She is interested in how these same star-planet interactions that create the beautiful aurora can in some cases drive the escape of planetary atmospheres to make a planet more suitable or less suitable for life. She usually has her head in (or above) the clouds, but you can occasionally find her on twitter @sagelatina.
