Lisa Thomas is an engineer and Deputy Program Manager of the B330 and BEAM expandable space habitat programs at Bigelow Aerospace. Her most recent program with NASA, the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM), successfully demonstrated the world’s first expandable, commercially-owned module on the International Space Station. With experience behind the design desk, at the launch site and in Mission Control, Ms. Thomas has developed a passion for space exploration and believes in a bright future for the industry in the U.S. She received her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand and her Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Arizona State University.
