Ravi Kopparapu

Dr. Ravi Kopparapu is an astrophyscist and planetary scientist at NASA Goddard. His research interests are in exoplanets and habitable worlds. His habitable zone calculations were used to identify all the potential habitable planets known to date. He did his Ph.D from Louisiana State University on gravitational-waves with the LIGO collaboration, and eventually moved to Penn State to study exoplanets. He is a Trekkie and has attended several Star Trek conventions, and even arm-twisted unsuspecting graduate students to participate in a 'Star Trek' play that he wrote and directed at Penn State (available on his Penn State web-page).
