Tilak Hewagama
Tilak Hewagama is a Planetary Scientist with the Department of Astronomy, University of Maryland. His research areas include the role of radiation, molecules and particulates in solar system atmospheres. It is remarkable that natural processes at molecular levels regulate planetary scale environments, and life on Earth. Recent advances in micro- and nano-scale engineering allows humans to manipulate artificial processes with unprecedented accuracy. Are we at a threshold where we can engineer, for example, highly efficient Chlorophyl based energy sources that can power AI systems, and will these scale to large systems?
